Start small.
Reach.
Experiment.
Repeat.

Start Small.

I get in my own way.
You get in your own way.

We worry about the end.
We worry about perfection.
We worry about other people.

Don't wait to get started.
Don't check your email first.
Don't wait for the perfect moment.

Start with what you have now, who you know now, where you are now.

Start as modestly as necessary to make it possible.
Start with something so small, it almost seems easy.

Reach

Just before you feel ready, reach.
Do better.
Work harder.
Go 5% beyond your comfort zone.

Experiment

Now, try something new.
When that stops working.
Try something else.
Try everything.

Don't measure your success by the outcome.
Measure your efforts.

Savor what works.
Discard the rest.

Repeat.

Come back tomorrow.
Do it all again.

I've written one book, scripted two dozen plays (and directed dozens more,) and spent twenty nights at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. I love to learn. It's what I most love about being a coach.

If you can go go above and beyond the intellectual and get your gut and your brain working in tandem, my goodness!

You have to be a pud before you can be a stud.

You don’t get be good at something without going through the discomfort of being bad at it.
